nervous about adding electrolyte
 

I might be adding battery acid to my battery. I siphoned out the old acid/electrolyte mixture. Didn't turn over the battery and dump it. Do I have to remove the battery? Can I just remove the cap and add the acid to the water already in the cell

What is the proper and safe procedure for doing this?
