Default Newbie-Ford Ranger 97 need a FAQ

I'm new to the Ford Ranger scene so any FAQ's or links that can set me up would be appreciated. A good site for parts would be great!! What engines can be easily swapped? Etc. etc.

there are lots of stores where to find parts. I've made several purchases at Ford Parts Online, they offer a great deal on almost all parts. you can also search ebay...

Okay thanks. What kind of engines can you swap into a Ranger with very little fab? Also where are the tech specs? You know compression ratios, cam degreeing etc. A For All Questions place would be nice.

depending what you want to do. skyjacker for lifts, k&n probably has an intake system for it. just have to look around. i'm new to the scene myself. i've alot for other rangers but not mine (83 2.8l v6 4x4). i do know you can put in a 5.0 out of a mustange. advance adapters makes a tranny adapter and painless makes a wiring harness for it.
