Ranger idling and bed cap question
Just bought a 2002 Ranger extended cab. Maybe someone could answer some questions for me?
1) Although the truck runs well, it seems to idle roughly (even when warmed up) at about 900 rpm's. Any ideas for an easy remedy? It isn't annoying enough to really spend much money on.
2) I'd like to put a cap on it. I helped a buddy put a cap on his by attaching with clamps. However. this Ranger has a Ford bedliner in it that covers the lip of the bed, making the use of clamps impossible. It almost looks like someone might have screwed a cap on it previously with three screws on each site. Could have been a cover I suppose. Anyone know how to attach a cap to this truck?
Thanks.

The easiest wat to mount the cap with the clamps is to cut small openings in the bed line for the smap to fit thru. If you look at trucks with bed liners and caps, this is how most of them are done.
I agree with cuting slots through the linner for the cap, but if you have room, just take the liner out. They come out in less than five minutes. With the cap you shouldn't be using it for rough hauling. If I used the cap the linner would come out.
