Default Steering Column-Splined or double d-Help?

Im getting ready to build a new sheetmetal dash. It will be built around a new steering column. I just need to know if it is a splined joint or a double d. I know what my stock connectoer looks like i just dont know what the connection is called. The column Im looking at comes in double d connector or a 1" 48-splined connection. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. If it comes down to it, Ill just pick one and if it doesnt work, Ill just have to buy a new linkage rod to the steering box if I have to. Thanx.
