I assume you mean even with the engine Off.
Have someone rock the truck back and forth (engine Off) while you apply pressure to the stick to move it out of gear, and into neutral.

If this doesn't work, or if it does pop out of gear, and then will not go back into gear, and function normaly, the shifter ball (where the stick goes into the trans) may not be properly installed into the shift fork shafts.

In our country, most of pick up trucks owners choose toyota hilux than ford ranger. I've heard in the internet and i watched youtube the comparison about ford and toyota.. Most review in favor of ford because it has a higher performance than toyota.
I have also checked this site Ford Ranger 2012 | Information Technology it seemed that it has a good review of ford ranger 2012. But this truck is not available in US. Am i correct?
