Wiper control unit
My wipers stopped working and I recently replaced the multifunction switch which did not fix the problem. I think it might be the wiper control unit but Im not sure where it is located on my '95 Ranger. I think it is behind the radio mounted on a side panel for the glove box.?

[sm=welcomesign.gif][ul]It could be 1 of 3 thing's[*]1. the switch on the column[*]2. the WCM (wiper control module) located behind the glove box [*]3. the motor itself is worn out.

RE: Wiper control unit
Thank you for your reply. I tried changing the multi function switch and the wcm. The wcm I found is located behind the radio mouinted on the side of the glove box support bracket, as there appears to be no room for it behind the glove box because of all the ac/ heater duct. I hope I got the right module. All cb's and fuses appear to be good as I moved them around because they are the same part number, no joy. I will try the motor next as the wiring diagram indicates that the circuit is thru the motor. I guess if the motor fails the intire circuit fails.
thanks again. greg |
RE: Wiper control unit
It may be possible if the motor shorted it shorted out the module.
