1996 Ford Taurus
I have a 96 Ford Taurus, If you turn the key to start it there is nothing, the battery is new, I have replaced the ignition switch as well as the ignition cylinder, and the starter, and still nothing. If you remove the key from the ignition you can still operate the windows as well as the radio. Any help reguarding this will be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried adjusting the position of the newly installed ign switch ?
|
I have tried different positions with the new ignition swith. I have just also replaced the ignition coil and still nothing. When I try to turn it over I still get nothing not even a click click. You can still ploay the radio and power the the windows without the keys in it.

it might be the solenoid not kicking the starter in ! are the battery terminals clean and tight ?
|
the trminals are clean and tight ... just can't figure out why power is still going into the car after the key is removed ..... I will have to remove the starter and try testing it to see if the selinoid is kicking in

Does the vehicle have any type security system on it? If not , I would suspect a problem with the GEM module. It controls most of the body functions and accessories.

Ok, does anything inside the car come on like it should? like the dome lights or dash?

It has been some time now.
