1999 Ford Taurus Starting Problems?

Hello,I have99 Taurus that hashad starting problems lately. In the morning or when the car has been sitting in the garage.i havent had a problem startingthe car. If i drive the car for a while then i try to restart it, I will just turn the engine, If i let it sit for about fifteen minutes the car will start but immediately shuts off when i try to placethe shift selector in gear? Then when i try to restart it it wont start until i let it sit for another 5-10 minutes? Also i noticed that if i let the car sit in the direct sunlight even after it sits i still have the same starting issues even on the initial startup. Thanks in advance for any input.

Clean battery cables and check catalytic converter that exhaust flow is enough.

Thank you i will check that next, I took it to a shop and they scan the car for codes, found nothing, They checked fuel pressure and pump, No problems, Checked ignition and battery, No problem. This is so weird, Has anyone had a problem like this pertaining to a transmission part failure having to cause anything like this. It seems to me that whatever is causing this problem only occurs when the selector is placed in park or neutral after driving, Something iscausing the engine to stop when this occurs.
