2000 Ford Electrical-radio problem
A dash light went out in my 2000 Ford, and in order to fix it you have to pull off the radio and then the trim to get to the dash (or atleast that's what I believe)
I can't get one side of my radio to unclip, even when using the ford radio remover tool. Seems a bit loose, but will not unclip. Any tips on how to get the radio out?
Also, I seem to have an electrical problem. The AUTO down driver's window feature does not work, but otherwise the window works fine. Also my cruise control does not work, the crusise light on the dash will light up briefly and then turn back off. And...my door locks are messed up. Never will all four of them work in unison, lately the drivers side door will not unlock with the remote or button on thedoor, unless Imanually pull up the pin.
My car did come with an added remote starter system when I bought it. The starter does not work...it'll fire up the car but immediately dies. It will try this three times in a row and then stop. It seems to me that maybe a fuse problem or some sort of bypass has occured when the remote starter was added. (and now disconnected?) Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hello and good day to you:
First May I say the Gentleman that can really help you is .... "Way2old" The guy is very knowledgeablein the Taurus inside, and out..
But...I will give it a shot...
1. To remove the Radio, you are correct in using the TOOL...but you need to Push it all the way in, and slowly spread them apart...and pull back while doing so...this should pull it back out.
2. The AUTO Down for the Window, may just be the Button Switch itself.
3. For the Cruise control I would not even have a Clue what would cause that to happen...Other than a Fuse, or a Relay.
4. The Door Lock is most likely the Locking Servo (the thing that makes it go up,,and down), and you would have to open up the door trim panel to get to it.
5. The starter is a different matter...and I will leave that up to "Way2old"...this is something I also would not even start to troubleshoot this...
I hope this may help...and I will send off a PM to "Way2old" for his advise.
Good luck and Good repairing.
Hi and thank you for your reply I appreciate the help.
I will try using the tools again to slowly spread the radio out, but I have a feeling something is damaged inside from a previous removal and it may need a some other method (drilling?)
The window switch is good, and functions normally other than automatically going down, but I'll use contact spray just incase. This is, my guess, a relay problem.
The door lock mechanism is fine because all the door locks function properly when I shift into gear (auto-lock) and then when I turn the ignition off (auto unlock).

WOW ... That is strange...It locks when you shift into gear, but it wont unlock with the remote...I will check on this...but I have no clue what would cause this.
