2001 Taurus SES recalls
 

The coil spring of my 2001 Taurus SES just broke.
I found that there was coil spring recall for 2001 Taurus.
But after I called ford, I was noticed that there is no recalls for my car.
Does anyone has any idea about that ?

The coil spring issue was just for the "rust belt". It covers vehicles sold in certain areas of the country. If the vehicle was sold, say, in Arizona and you bought it in Michigan, the recall does not affect your car.

front or rear spring/strut? had the front pair replaced on a '98. my son was driving out of the parking lot of his apt., and heard hear a loud bang and then a quick POP and a front tire went flat. spring broke and punctured the tire. towed 3 blocks to NAPA shop and they replaced the front set. was done the next afternoon, cost just over 600.00 including the tow. shop owner keeps all parts for this job in stock, say's a very common problem this being a college town with lots of Taurus's/Sables this age around .

My rear spring broke. The dealer also told me that this is a very very common problem.
I have not have it fixed yet. The estimate price is 500-900, which is a big number!
