2015 gas tank size
 

I bought a used 2015 Taurus, and the low fuel warning comes on, I drive it another 20 miles, get gas and it only takes 14-15 gallons to fill. everything I read about this car as it has a 19 gallon tank. since this car is still under full warrenty, I talked to a tech at a ford dealer when I was getting a oil change, and he said some cars only have a 17 gallon tank. I have not found anything on fords web that says anything about not having a 19 gallon can. anyone know anything about this? does it have a 17 gallon tank? last time I filled, the miles to go until empty was at 20, the needle on my gage was almost even with E, and it took 15.5 to fill, which makes me believe it is a 17 gallon can.

A lot will depend on the level to which the tank is filled. Running it down to the very bottom is asking for trouble and could cause the pick-up screen in the tank to get clogged if there is "stuff" in there. On the other hand pumping addl gas into the tank after the nozzle shuts off is also asking for trouble with the "Evap System". Suggest to try to stay within the safe ranges as you get familiar with the vehicle and it's gauge readings.
