94 Taurus 3.0 problems?
 

My dads car is missing, sputtering and it backfires now. We had it taken to a shop befroe all this to have a complete tune up done on the car, it has 188,000 some odd miles on it. What would be causing this problem. They replaced seals and a lot of other parts. The mechanics cant figure out why its causing this problem. I have delt with them for a lot of my car problems and they have fixed them. Just this is the first time they have messed up with a car of ours.

Does the car have spark knock at all? The reason I ask is because another member on this board advised me that if I had spark knock, I could have a head gasket starting to fail.
