95 Ford Heater Core

Hi,

There are twocoolant lines that run from the intake manifold to the water pump. One of the lines feeds the heater core the other is just a straight shot.My question:

- is the flow through theselines from the intake manifold to the water pump (a recic)or from the water pump to the intake (an engine bypass).
- what is the purpose of the "straight shot" line.

I blew the heater core. So, I'm just going to connect the heater core inlet hose to the heater core outlet hose but was wondering if this should be orificed to simulate the resistance to flow offered by the heater core?

Thanks, BC

RE: 95 Ford Heater Core

Well, right or wrong, I plugged the intake manifold port that supplies the heater core. I removed the crimped hose onthe tube that runs from the heater core back to thewaterpump and plugged the tube.

The heater core bypass line from the intake manifold back to the waterpump is still in service. I had the feeling that there may be some purpose to this line other than reducing heater core pressure. I think it serves as a recirc line when the thermostat is closed.

Don't really need the heater much in Hawaii and I hear it's ason of gunto remove the core...
