Check engine light comes on after 10 minutes
 

Hi Folks.

1992 tarus wagon 3.8l auto,
after re and re steering gear and trans fluid change the check engine light comes on after about 5 to 10 minutes driving, happens at low speed or high speed. When I turn the ignition key off and then on the light goes off. Light does not go on if idleing in the driveway for same amount of time. Engine runs fine when light is on. Any idea whats causing the light to go on.

If Steering rack was removed, it's possible that the O2 sensors weren't all reconnected when the job was done. Could be any number of other things, but usually a check engine light on after a somewhat major repair means something wasn't reconnected.
