Emission Control Light

my 00 taurus has been showing a steady Emission control warning light for a couple weeks now, and seems to be running just fine, wondering if anyone else has had similiar problems, because it may just be a sensor...

It may just be a sensor. But which one. You need to have a scanner put on the vehicle to see what trouble codes are stored. This will give a starting point. Some major auto parts chain stores will read the codes for free. Let us know exact code number, not what they tell you it is.
