Keyless remotes

HI guys, I just purchased an 02 SES and it came with 2 keys and one remote. The remote has only 3 buttons (doesn't have the trunk release button). Is it possible to purchase the four button types and have them re-set to work on my car? I had this done with my old Expedition and it worked fine. My concern is this 3 button unit. My car has the trunk release button on the dash so I assume it should also have the capability to open from a remote. I have a feeling that the dealer had the 3 button remote programmed to work on my vehicle even though it wasn't the correct 4 button type (again I'm assuming here as I think they came with the 4 button type originally--please correct me if I'm wrong on this). Any help or advice would be helpful. I've seen plenty of these remotes on E-bay. How easy is it to program them?? I tried on the old Expedition but ended up bringing it to the dealer as I must have been doing something wrong.
Thanks in advance--Jay, Boss 351 Driver.

yea there is a way to program a remote that way, the other way to to check what the FQ is in the remote and get the ECM set to the same FQ. its more time consuming and cost more but it easier for the owner...

if you want i could find the instructions online to program the remote... let me know.
