replace
I gave up on the tubing on top, it was old and brittle. I bit the bullet and got the hose assembly. It was NOT available aftermarket, so I had to go buy it at the local Ford Dealership. Not cheap, but neither was having a car up on blocks waiting. They had plenty of them in stock around the country, so no problem getting one in a day or two. Sorry it's not better news. I've had it back on the road for some time now, so replacing that sensor was the right fix. I recommend replacing the big gas filter in the line near the rear door shortly after this, as you might get gunk going by this repair.
