Steering rebuild

I recently replaced the steering pump and steering rack in my daughter's '91 Taurus LX. This has the "variable assist" power steering. In the process of removing the old steering rack, the wires pulled off the top of a little actuator attached to the steering rack. This module is referred to in my Haines manual as an "auxilliary steering actuator." It is a round unit, about an inch or two in diameter, with a protective rubber boot and four wires coming out of the top. These wires connect to four pins on top of the actuator and they are yellow, green, black and white. I have visited some local Ford dealerships, and none of them have anything in their manuals that show which wire goes to which pin.

Can anyone offer me any insight?

Many thanks
