I think that there is a TSB for a inncorrectly installed cam position sensor the dealer should be able to help with the info:eek:

TRY YOUR IDLE AIR CONTROL (IAC VALVE)

I have a 92 Taurus that's doing the same thing... it only does it when it's cold outside, The battery light will blink and will putt as if it wants to stall...It finally stalled the other day, and I couldn't get it to start back up at all... the battery tested 100% healthy, so I'm not quite sure what the problem is... sugesstions are appriciated...thanks

i've got a 94 150 and it does the same thing. its fine after it warms up. But that initial start it will idle up maybe 600 then almost die and continously do that. but if i keep giving it gas its fine. let me know if you find a solution

Tyson is right, all the ford have that iac problem. The alternator light only turns on when you rev too low.
