1989 Ford Probe Stalling

Good Morning. I have a 1989 Ford Probe. If the car idols for more than 10 minutes it stalls out. I know it is going to stall out because I hear a whistle just before it stalls. It starts very hard after this also and sometimes I must let it sit a minute or 2 before trying a restart. Also if I try to start the car after it has been used in the morning I have to let it turn over a couple of times, turn it off and then turn it back on and it starts. Does anyone have any ideas on what is wrong? Thanks all.
Bob

RE: 1989 Ford Probe Stalling

Have you tryed to clean the throttle plate, there bad about getting gummed upped, get a old tooth brush an a can of carb cleaner, if you can try to get the kind thats kinda foamy , it dont run off near as bad , let it soak a few minutes , spray it again an give it a good brushing, hold the throttle open an clean the back side as well an all around inside the airhorn, an shoot some in the IAC valve also
