96' 2.5l probe wont start
 
ok so i have a 96 probe 2.5L V6 and it cranks but wont start the last time it did start which was about 2 days ago it was backfireng really bad and it would rev higher than 3000 rmps and would not accelarate more than 25mph and if i let go of the gas pedal for more than three seconds it bogs out and turns off i have replaced the fuel filter checked my plugs wires distributer and fuel pump all are good i checked all my vaccums all are connected and i dont know what else to check hopefully someone has had this problem before and can give me an idea of what might be wrong with it thanks

Slipped timing belt/chain, clogged catalytic converter, dirty battery cables, etc. If it's OBD2 have you tried a tester/code reader?
