1987 T-Bird 3.8L V6

I just bought an 87 Tbird last week and I wanna make sure it stays in good shape. It has 120k miles on it and seems to be in a pretty good condition. I changed the
- Serpentine belt
- Oil and oil filter
- Air filter
- Fuel filter

Im gonna change
- The distributer cap and rotor plugs wires.
- Check Ignition timing
- Check the CV boot
- Radiator hoses
- PCV Valve
- Test the Alternator

A website said I should check the Heat Riser and Evaporative Canister as part of a tune up. Did this come on my car? It was kind of a general tune up for older cars.

Also what else should I look for or tune up? Im not all that good with cars but id like to become knowledgeable. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
-Eric

P.S. Im bringing it for an inspection in a few days aswell so the faster the suggestions the more helpful it would be

Try replacing the EGR valve and tube. Check fluids for proper colors. Brake fluid should be clear or yellowish clear to be any good. Trans fluid in automatic red , brown is bad. Motor oil yellow - black is shot - and check for any metal (fine filings) left in the drain pan when you change oil. Don't forget to check brake pads and rotors/drums.

Funny you say that when I changed out the distributer cap rotor plugs and spark plugs I accidentally broke those ****ty EGR vacuum hoses(I think thats what they are) so im heading up to an auto parts store to change out the hoses. imm getting an inspection too so I can check the back pressure on the EGR to see if the valve needs to be changed aswell. Thanks for the reply. I didnt realize these forums were so dead
