'65 Bird with dead and sad dash lights.

So the dash lights went out on my pretty 65 Bird. It's got mostly fixed up parts, and all interior lights (map, door, courtesy) seem to work. The stereo works. The A/C seems to be having some electrical problems. I know there is some real electrical issue going on with her deep within, because a battery on/off had to be installed (though also for safety).

I believe what's wrong is the interior light relay is out, though I admit I'm not certain since other interior lights seem to work. Not sure what goes into the dash lights, but it's clearly necessary if any night driving is going to happen.

The issue is, 1) is this the issue? 2) I can't find an interior light relay part -anywhere-, which leads me to believe that maybe I'm way off base. Or that it's extremely rare, and this is going to be a real issue.

Any ideas, thoughts, answers?

Welcome to the site..

Most of the older cars/trucks just had a rheostat built into the headlight switch for panel dimming control. When they go bad, sometimes the dash lights would go dark, or fliker, and sometimes if you just jiggled, or rotated the headlight knob back'n forth they would come back on.. Did you try it? Check the fuse for the dash lights?
