79 tbird exhaust
Last year my Y pipe fell off my tbird, I would like to run duel's instead of a single pipe. Has anyone ran duel exhaust from the cats or are headers the best way to go. If headers the option what type will fit? I still have the stock 302 in the car.
Thanks

With your car being the last of the big body birds and a 302, there should be plenty of room for a set of equal length headers for a fox body mustang. Then just have new exhaust ran from headers to bumper but don't forget to have an h-pipe x-pipe installed as it will produce some extra power! I had a silver 79 bird with red interior and top with floor shift auto and buckets and a 400 ci It was a neat car! I had dual glass packs on it. It wasn't fast but it sure was a nice cruiser that sounded great! It had dual cats on it. One car that comes to mind that will be a great cross reference is the crown vic with dual exhaust as they came that way as a factory option. Especially the police pkg. Any decent exhaust shops can do it! I'm wondering if your car had a dual exhaust option since you could get one with a 400 or 460! Also check the older vehicles like the Ltd of like the early to mid 70s. I can't imagine any hwy patrol cars having a single exhaust. Your birds platform goes pretty much across the board for the big cars like Lincoln and mercury.
