92 T-Bird

On my wifes 92 T-Bird the Tripmeter and theOdometer just stopped working. The speedometer works fine and they are all on the same middle gauge pod.

Is the gauge pod bad even though theSpeedometer still works or is there another sensor that is bad some where?

RE: 92 T-Bird

The guage likely has a broken gear tooth on the odometer. The trip meter works off the odometer and so if the odometer is broken so usually is the trip meter (so that's no surprise). Most cars are the same way basically. It may be a common problem so look out for identical damage on any replacement part from a salvage yard (lots of recent plastics do not hold up and disintegrate after so many years - oh yeah - did I mention the gears I mentioned are usually plastic?)

Looking for an anwser.

Four out of five times it will start but the one time when it don't start it seems like it is not picking up fuel? It has a new fuel pump and filter's. Does anyone know why this may be happening?
