Default transmission for 3.8

I have a 3.8 supercharged v6 out of a super coupe (don't know the year, maybe 89-91). It has a T-5 5-speed manual transmission in it now, but I want to put in an automatic. Does anyone know what tranny will mate up to that engine? I was thinking that the Mustangs of that age had the same tranny? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Any vehicle with the 3.8 V6 should be a likely donor, but with supercharged engines I would insist on a transmission formerly from a supercharged 3.8L. Sometimes the factory will beef them up a little to handle the extra power output. You could likely add on some parts to make a standard 3.8 trans. work with it only it involvesmore work.

The 89 to 93 super coupes had a aod for a automatic and a m5r2 for a 5 speed the aod transmissions were the same in the super coupes and the 5.0 lx's (a little stronger) hope this helps
