03 Windstar throttle position sensor

My engine light came on in my '03 Windstar and the code is for a throttle position sensor. I plan to replace it but was curious about the computer resetting and the sensor adjustment. I understand at idle there should be about .5v and open about 1.0v. Is this correct and how easy is this to adjust? I don't see any place to pull a volt reading from the sensor short of jamming a paper clip into the back of the sensor plug. Any help is greatly appreciated
