1985 f150 5.0 EFI cuts out
Hello everyone,
I have got a 1985 f150 that has been having this cutting out issue for a little while now and it is starting to get a little worse and more annoying. Wondering if anyone else has had/heard of this before. The engine idles smoothly, passes smog, and seems to run pretty decent in town....unless you try to accelerate hard. When on the freeway if your going up a hill that requires the truck to shift out of overdrive into third gear, the truck will intermittanly cut out. It seems to only do it when there is a load on the engine (accelerating hard or going up long hills at freeway speeds). I've heard that it could be that the fuel filter is really dirty causing the engine to starve for fuel, or also possibly that it could be the knock sensor. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great! Thanks for reading.
