1991 ford ranger rpm/gas fuel cluster

Hello

My 1991 4cyl 5sp single cab truck

my rpm an gas meter's in the cluster dont work..
only in extremely hot heat they have bounced around at times.
how can i get these to work ? throttle positon sensor possibly ?
could be a fuse for all i know. but the,,
battery/ oil / heat / speed ,,, all work fine in the cluster.

since winter ive been filling the truck up an once it hits 250miles i know
i got to get to a gas station an push it back to 000

could this be the reason my CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON ?

also when its cold out or first start up of the day it wont shift to any gears you gotta force it in or sometimes go to 3rd -4th few times before it goes to 1st gear.. could that be trans fluid being low? how can i check it or drain it an add new fluid in..

Thank you

Jack
