Default 1999 explorer door locks

My power door locks for the drivers and the passenger side stopped working. The tailgate power lock still works and locks all the doors. Is this a common problem, can this be easily fixed. Thanks for any help.

yes this is a common problem with explorers. I have a 98 sport and a friend of my has a 99, both of them have the exact same problem just with the driver's side door. haven't figured out why or how to fix it yet.

The lock actuators commonly fail on these models. You can do it yourself if you have a large rivet gun and a good drill. If you look on the inside lower back part of the door, you will see the rivet that holds it in.
