Default repair advise

I am trying to remove torsion bars from a 97 F150 4x4 and after blocking the truck and removing the tension on the adjuster arms the torsion bars will not budge. Am I missing something?

You probably need a torsion bar removing tool to slide out of pocket, they will not just fall out. You can try locking 2-3 pairs of vice grips on bar in succession and hammering on vice grips to knock out of control arm pocket, also is there a retaining clip in the back.
