Exclamation 2003 Taurus SES State Emission Failure

Took my 2003 Taurus SES for the state emissions testing here in AZ and has failed due to "bad command on Engine Light" or something to that affect. In other words, when I turn the car on, the engine light doe not come on during the system check therefore failing the test. Is this a simple fix?

'It could be. Check the bulb, of course. If it's not that, then check the printed circut on the cluster; the plugs can wiggle loose (so do the bulbs) or the connections can oxidize. Wiggle them, and recheck the operation.
