2011 Ford Edge Conondrum
2011 Edge SEL, 26k miles. Three days on my name. CarMax says Engine light came on while I dropped it off for some touchup (glass/paint) on Friday. They said it came on and off within a few moments.
Long story short, I gotta decide what to do with the truck, got one more day to return it, or keep it.
Codes? Just got home with a scanner (they would not give me specifics), and there are 4 total codes in storage:
P2195 and P2197. One set current, one set pending.
I drove it all day today, no engine lights, or anything going on. Car spends nights outside. Runs smooth, I like it, want to keep it.
Is it normal that these codes come up once or twice? with that mileage? is it worth going through the pain of cancelling the purchase? everything else about it seems perfect.
Your suggestions are appreciated.

Huh, someone mentioned something as simple as a fuel tank cap not being properly tightened. I just checked, and the Edge actually has one of those "Easy Fuel - No Cap" on, which I can tell it does not seem to be sealing properly. Could this be it? Anyone familiar with such a device?
First time poster on this site, and I appreciate all comments.

Suggest you take it back to the dealer or where you purchased it and get it on record and see what they say. They may either correct the problem or not . At least get some idea of what is causing it and hopefully they will stand behind it and correct the cause.

Why ISN'T this covered under warranty? I do believe the warranty is something in the area of 5/60k, but could be mistaken.
The codes (if memory serves correctly) relate to the the o2's being stuck rich/lean. Possible causes are either air induction (maf, airbox or filter not properly seated/sealed) and/or fuel system pressure. Should be something any dealer can repair.

Thank you all so much for the comments, after checking on warranties from the dealer and the overall state of the car, I have decided to keep it and work with the factory warranty system if needed. Also, drove it over 300 miles over the weekend with no incident whatsoever.
Thanks again everyone for taking the time!
