2007 Taurus front end noise

Yesterday when I was backing up my car started making a noise that almost sounded like the tire rubbing on the inside of the fender covers. It seemed to do it only when the wheel was turned all the way to the right and backing up. Then later while turned all the way to the right and pulling forward into a parking space it did it again. I tried to check, and while it was close to the inside of the fender covers, it wasnt touching. Any ideas on what it might be. Thanks

There is a good possibility of a bad CV joint. If the vehicle is making the noise while turning right, usually, the bad joint is in the driver's side. Noise can usually be duplicated doing figure 8 s in reverse.

another possibility is a backing plate contacting the rotor. they can flex when the wheels are turned to the stops. the sound will be metallic, tinny, scraping sound.
