I was wondering if someone could help me identify what these two hoses that are coming out of the firewall are for and what they are supposed to connect to. Thanks for your help.

i cant see the picture. if they are about half an inch in diameter maybe the heater core

 

You're right. Those are the hoses that bring coolant to and from the heater core. One hose goes to the water pump and the other hose goes to the air intake. They cut the hoses at the firewall and instead ran a hose from the water pump straight to the air intake to bypass the heater core. Does anyone know why they would have done that?

 

Heater core leaking..

 

At first look I was gonna ask if your heater worked! And after a second look, you can see where they by-passed the heater core.

 

shouldnt be a problm to repalce the heater core on that.
