95 Windstar steering noise?

Turning right is OK but turning left I hear a noise that sounds like dry rubber rubbing/sqeeking. It sounds like it is in the actual steering linkage. Is there anything a novice can do or is this strictly a shop job? Also; would this be dangerous to ignore for awhile?
I can't feel any real vibration in the steering wheel yet and requires no additional force to turn. Doesn't sound like it's coming
from the ps pump but rather much lower.

Thanks
Dave
