Default F350 CONVERTION, AUTO TO MANUAL

I was told it is possible to convert my '99 F350 PowerStroke from Auto trans to a 5 or 6 speed manual trans. Also that there are books available on the subject. I have not found anything on the convertion yet. My auto trans needs rebuilding and I am toying with the idea of replacing it with a manual. Any help or direction would be greatly apprciated.

The expense of converting would be very high. Dual mass fly wheel and clutch kit is around a 1500 dollars alone then the cost of the transmission plus putting in a differant pedal assembly in the cab and as Patrick said the computer change. Your better off haveing your auto rebuilt.

Just my opinion

people who have successfully done the switch often find that down the road it is harder to troubleshoot issues because of the non-matching parts...its like putting a 460 in a late model explorer...while it might be nice for a while..when something does go wrong...youre chasing a hunch all the tme...
