97 3.0 vulcan taurus timing issue
 

Hello, brand new here. Scanned across alot of stuff here and joined. Read a post from a member back in 2/9/07 same problem. (SLEEPERFAN) dont know how to contact this person. engine ping,s on a grade sorun high test gas. It helps but how to resolve the timing? I havent had the time to through a light on it &to see how advanced its running,but what kind a scan toolwould be able toreprogram.

A slight ping these days is somewhat acceptable since they are pushed to the limit. Usually when the engine starts pinging the EGR system is not functioning as designed. Might want to check its operation .
Also timing is not adjustable on those engines, all computer controlled.
