Anti Theft PAT system key programming

Hi , Did you ever get your truck started and what did you do to fix it? Last Saturday my 2002 F150 left me stranded in the parking lot of a grocery store and is still there. It's doing the same as yours Flashing theft light. I'm trying to figure out how to fix it myself. I can't afford to bring it to the dealer. Hope you can help me out. Thanks

The first thing you might try is to use your second "working" key. If for some reason your present key lost it's coding, the system will prevent the vehicle from starting.
The second working key is one that also allowed the vehicle to start.

Now if you don't have that second key, you have 2 choices.
One -call a Dealership and show proof of ownership and they will send out road service to fix that, not cheap.
Two- call a certified locksmith and he can do the same thing , but charges a lot less,,,usually.
Third- you can arrange to have the vehicle towed to a shop or maybe the shop is certified/capable to code keys.

If you did not have that second working key, now is the time to get one.

Hi,

It is true that Ford dealerships have the specialized equipment and software required to reprogram keys and address anti-theft system issues, you must contact nearby dealer to get assistance.
