Default Back-up lights

Hi, I need help...my back-up lights don't work! I checked the fuse and the bulbs and they are fine. I replaced the back-up light switch and the lights worked for about a week and then stopped working again...does this sound like a bad ground somewhere or what? if its a bad ground is there an easy way to trace it? Any help would be appreciated, Eric

The TR (transmission range sensor) is known to go bad on these vehicles and cause the reverse lights to fail.

I would imagine there would still have to have some sort of switch or sensor still when you put it into reverse.
