Brake n ABS lights-Ford windstar

I have a 2001 Ford Windstar, the brake and abs lights have been going on intermittently for a a month now. Brake fluid is fine, my mechanic look and found no leaks. he replaced some switch on the master cylinder and it was fine for awhile n now the light is back on..... the brakes work fine, no problems

any ideas?????

Yea it was common for those sensor's on the bottom of the Master Cyl. to go bad back a few yrs ago ,, Not a whole lot else would lit up both ABS lite an the Red Brake lite in the dash , Did you check the E-brake switch as that will lite up the red lite also , An I had a faulty brake computher cause them both to lite up , possibly a faulty ground, I know on the older F series there was a small ground wire that went to the Rad. support bracket, If it failed it would lite up the system also , it was a small black wire by the battery.

that sensor was just replaced and the light was off for a few days, now back on intermittently. i will show your post to my mechanic and let him do some more research, but at this point, I may just leave it alone if the brakes are okay for now...

Thanks
Jessie
