Hey does anyone know anything about the catylitic converter on a 1995 ford f150XL 4x4 inline 6 cylinder?

There is two things in the exhaust piping that look like it could be the converter, which one??

I have a bad book that says nothing about it?

Help!!!!!! I am told the converter is plugged,, what do I do?
