Default CCRM module location

Hi everyone. I just replaced the CCRM module in my 1998 3.8L V6 Mustang to fix a problem with ac compressor/clutch not coming on. Replacement worked like a charm. Question is, I mounted the CCRM outside of the original location (was inside the passenger fender) as it was a bear getting that thing out through the small holes in the engine area. Didn't want to take off the wheel well cover (to get to the CCRM) and risk not being able to get the cover back on.

Now the CCRM is next to the air intake. I assume it is safe to leave it there? I've watched videos for other vehicles showing the CCRM more easily accessible inside the engine area (not inside the fender) so I'm assuming it's ok, but wanted to check with any experts out there.

Thanks!

it should hold up for a while but no way to know how long, Heat is a killer for electronics, being next to the intake it will pick up a lot of extra heat from the engine and that will shorten it service life. It may lasts months or years but it would be best to move it back to its correct location. On a side note, The same thing happened to my 98 escort and rather than by a new module I simply wired in a 40 amp relay from the parts store using a Haynes repair manual to find the correct wires, problem fixed for less than $10.00!
