Digital odometer

Hi on my 92 Aerostar I had some fuses blow I found a loose wire on the ignition switch, replaced fuses made sure that the loose wire was the problem before I fixed the wire I made sure that when I wiggled the wire the same fuses were effected. After fixing wire replacing fuses the only thing that did not work is the odometer which had gone out when the fuses blew. When it came back on it only read error. The odometer is digital, the speed odometer is not and was not effected. What would cause the odometer to still say error, could the computer be bad, another short, or the gauge gone bad? How can I check to see what is wrong since it will not pass inspection in New Jersey like this is a safety issue. Thank You and Have a Nice day.

Had the battery disconnected when I changed dash lights so would not have to worry about air bag. Thanks anyway.

RE: Digital odometer

I have driven it more than 10 miles I've had it on the highway up 80 mph I have been trying to fix this since June 07, I have even asked my neighbor who is a FORD Mechanic. But I don't think he is a very good one, because he could not even tell another neighbor how to open a hose clamp on his fuel line, you know the one you need pliers to open. Thamks again.

need to take it to a autozone they will see if any codes are present for free.
