DIY Transponder Program if I have locksmith provided key code

Hi everyone,

I had a locksmith do a scan on my Ford to get what I understand to be the transponder code. It's a 5 digit code. I would like to program some spare keys but I don't have a second working key which I know would make it a lot easier. Does anyone know how the dealer programs with only one key if they get the code?

Thanks so much in advance

Nowadays, an auto locksmith can scan Ford keys to program the transponder key

As you know , you need 2 working keys to program up to 8 keys.
While you were at the locksmith you might have had him do the second key for you.

To answer your question, you need a capable scan tool or other device and information to get into the vehicle computer security system
