engine over revving 98 contour
 

Hi Folks,

I'm new to this site but I'm hoping for some help here. I have a 98 Ford Contour and of late it is starting to overrev when it is placed in neutral or when you put the clutch in. Had it to some mechanics and they are baffled. Has anyone run into this before? I'm thinking that one of the feedback sensors wires are getting an open circuit when the engine heats up but I really am at a loss on this one.
