Engine won't shut off w/ key & ABS light came on
 

I've got a 1999 Windstar 3.0L w/ an automatic trans. We went on vacation and upon arrival at our destination the engine would not shut off when I turned the key to the off position. The airbag light came on at the same time this happened. I follow my gut and removed the fuse for the airbag circuit thinking that the new airbag light may have something to do with the engine not shutting off. Well, after I removed the fuse the engine would shut off normally with the key.

Does anybody have any experience with this or any thoughts? I'd like to have my airbag(s) functional, but I also need to be able to turn my van off.
