Default F100 with a Mustang GT engine

Several different opinions on this subject. I have a 1983 F100 which came with a 302 / 2 barrel carburetor. I pulled that motor and I'm putting an engine from a 1989 Mustang GT in its place. My question is will the truck run worth a ****, and will my aod transmission from the pickup truck work with that engine? I'm not trying to build a race truck I just want a decent power with a good sound. And as far as camshafts, which one of the alphabet cams would be the best suited for my engine. This will be a daily driver that will smoke the back tires if I wanted to. Anybody got any opinions please let me know, and I do appreciate it. I am switching to carburetor and I'm not using fuel injection. It will be a full bar of Holly more than likely on a Victor Jr intake
