flex power locks disable temporarily frequent basis

I have a 2014 Flex SEL, midrange as far as options. It uses a regular key/fob - not push button. About half the time I park somewhere, get out and try to lock doors - nothing happens - keyfob lock button makes horn honk/flashes lights if I press twice - but no locks. Touchpad on driver door will not function but lights up. The power lock/unlock toggle switch inside on driver door also does nothing. Only way to lock doors is to go around to each door and push down each lock pin by hand like in the 70s! When I return to drive away everything works fine...keyfob, touchpad code, etc like there is no problem. What is going on?
ps sometimes everything works normal - park same spot every day at work sometimes fine sometimes not
pss yes I tried fresh name brand fob batteries
Any thoughts anybody?
