focus engine swap

has anyone put an escort motor in a focus. I have a 2000 focus with a 2.0 sohc will a 2000 escort 2.0 sohc fit. alldata says they are both vin p.
just want to know if anyone has done this.

You have a focus with a SOHC engine? I thought all Foci were DOHC Zetec motors.
